November 25, 2023: Media Matters for Democracy held consultation sessions on gendered disinformation in Lahore, Islamabad and Karachi in October and November 2023 and were attended by a total of 35 women journalists and lawyers.
The consultation session was designed to take suggestions and recommendations from relevant key stakeholders on countering the growing gendered disinformation in online spaces. The participants worked in groups to identify stakeholders who can be approached for collaborations in the future.
The session provided a safe space to women journalists and lawyers to openly share their experiences of surviving gender-based attacks and disinformation campaigns and provide effective solutions to the growing problem.
