Media Matters for Democracy (MMfD) is looking for a talented and driven individual to join our team as Senior Manager Programs. This role is based within our Media and Information Literacy (MIL) and Media Development programs. As a Senior Manager Programs, you will not only lead and execute a wide range of initiatives within MMfD, but also influence our contributions to the media landscape.

MMfD offers a leadership role where you can apply your journalistic expertise, along with management, writing and research skills, to develop MIL competencies among information producers and consumers in Pakistan. This position serves as the lead for our MIL and Media Development team, and has the following core requirements;
- Supervise the implementation of initiatives and projects under MMfD’s MIL and Media Dev programme, and in coordination with Director Programs cater to all programmatic requirements, including regular reports and other necessary documentation.
- Manage the implementation of assigned project(s) under ‘MIL and Media Dev’ Program, and cater to all programmatic requirements, including regular reports.
- Prepare regular project implementation reports and other project management documentation.
- Coordinate with Logistics, Outreach, Communications, Design and Tech resource persons for smooth implementation of project activities
- Support to higher management in designing and drafting of proposals
- Contribute to key organisational functions of Media Matters for Democracy
About MMfD
Media Matters for Democracy is a not-for-profit organisation working to strengthen the media and digital landscape in Pakistan by promoting digital democracy, freedom of expression, and access to information.
Location
This is an on-site position based in Islamabad, Pakistan.
Compensation
The salary for this position would be between 175000 PKR – 200000 PKR, depending on experience and qualifications of the applicant.
Contract Type
Yearly contract. Full time (40 hours)
Criteria
Our ideal candidate must meet the following criteria:
- At least 7 years of relevant and managerial experience.
- Excellent writing and speaking skills.
- Proven experience of working in a newsroom, or producing content for journalistic print, digital and electronic mediums.
- Exceptional research skills. Preference would be given to candidates with demonstrated experience, and with published research.
- Experience in management. People with experience in managing a diverse team will be preferred.
- Fluency in English and Urdu is required.
