In response to the escalating wave of digital disinformation amplified by geopolitical tensions and the rise of AI-generated content Media Matters for Democracy is launching Empowering Journalists Against Disinformation, a focused refresher training for Pakistani journalists and information practitioners. This short but intensive program will revisit essential fact-checking skills while addressing emerging threats such as AI-manipulated visuals, synthetic media, and coordinated narrative manipulation. Participants will be introduced to tech-based strategies and tools designed to detect, trace, and counter disinformation more effectively, equipping them to respond in real time with confidence and clarity.
