Media Matters for Democracy is pleased to announce a comprehensive Holistic Safety Training for mid-career journalists across Pakistan. This intensive three-day, in-person training session in Islamabad is designed to equip journalists with essential skills to enhance their safety and resilience in the field.

Scope of Training

The training will cover:

Physical Safety: Techniques and strategies to protect yourself in high-risk environments, including hostile situations, protests, and conflict zones.

Digital Safety: Best practices for safeguarding your digital presence, protecting sensitive data, and maintaining the confidentiality of your sources in an increasingly surveilled world.

Psychosocial Safety: Tools and support mechanisms to manage stress, trauma, and mental health challenges that often accompany journalism in high-pressure situations.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must have over 5 years of experience working in newsrooms.
  • Mid-career journalists currently employed in print, broadcast, or digital media in Islamabad and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
