Media Matters for Democracy invites you to apply for the MediaLab Fellowship Programme which has been designed exclusively for women journalists in Pakistan who are ready to strengthen their digital presence, enhance their storytelling, and explore new ways of sustaining their work.
Women journalists in Pakistan face countless challenges, from barriers to access and visibility to the constant threat of online abuse. This fellowship creates a safe, supportive, and empowering space where women can learn, experiment, and grow while producing impactful stories.
Why Should You Apply
During the three-month fellowship, selected participants will gain access to tailored training, mentorship, and resources to boost both their skills and their reach. The programme includes:
—Virtual training sessions and an in-person bootcamp with experts on digital storytelling, content strategy, online safety, and practical monetisation models.
— Three months of mentorship with experienced journalists who will provide personalised guidance.
—Production support to help fellows develop and publish original journalistic pieces that highlight human rights stories often overlooked in mainstream media.

Fellowship Timeline
The fellowship will run over a three-month period, with a mix of online and in-person activities.
Our Expectation
All selected fellows will be required to produce two journalistic pieces (written or visual) towards the end of the fellowship.
