Media Matters for Democracy co-hosts Peace Tech Exchange with an aim to discuss and develop civic tech solutions for Gilgit Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa

Islamabad, 27 April 2015: Media Matters for Democracy co-hosts Peace Tech Exchange, an initiative to bring together civic actors to brainstorm ideas for civic tech development for activists from KPK and GB.

Peace Tech events are aimed at discussing and developing civic technology solutions that low cost, easy to use and empower peace-builders in conflict zones with low-cost. In Pakistan, the Peace Tech Exchange workshop was organized with support from USIP focusing on the social issues of Gilgit-Baltistan, FATA and Kybher Pakhtoonkhwa, encouraging volunteers to come up with civic-tech solutions to address them.

Media Matters for Democracy in partnership with B4A team and partners arranged special mentoring sessions for groups working on media-related issues with a special focus on alleviating information darkness through citizen journalism and by helping citizens’ voices into mainstream media.
