Media Matters for Democracy, Bytes for All and Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists are hosting a joint consultative session on bringing to light the potential implications of proposed Prevention of Electronic Crimes Bill 2016 on journalists and journalism in Pakistan. The session will feature presentations from civil society experts highlight the follies of the draconian legislation and a panel discussion with representatives of various political parties, experts, and lawyers.

The session aims to create a joint consensus on the need to reform Prevention of Electronic Crimes Bill 2016 in the light of the reservation put up by various civil society bodies including Media Matters for Democracy and the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists.
