Are you a journalist looking for help to scrape data from a data source? We’ve got you covered! Join us at Open Data Scrapathon on 14th April

Media Matters for Democracy and Code for Pakistan are organizing an Open Data Scrapathon on the theme of “Accountability through Public Records” on Saturday, 14 April 2018 in Islamabad.

Register for the scapathon here: http://bit.ly/datascrapathon

It’s election year and the Pakistani public needs to know how their elected representatives performed over the past five years. This is why our scrapathon will examine the websites of national and provincial assemblies and make the information on legislative performance available in open data formats. Did politicians even attend assembly sessions? Did they pass any laws for public service? Let’s find out!

if you are interested in civic technology or want to improve government accountability through open access to information, this will be a great chance for you to meet like-minded coders, developers, and journalists. Join us to play your part in ensuring more transparency in government and a better democracy.
