About the Team
Media Matters for Democracy was founded by a group of journalists geared towards media development and digital rights in Dec 2014. Over the years, after a number of likeminded individuals came on board, we have now become a team of journalists, activists, techies, designers, researchers, and lawyers striving together for a progressive media, communications, and digital spaces.

1. Misinformation = An image allegedly quoting a French Nobel Laureate Montagnier, a virologist, on COVID-19 vaccines circulated on social media that those who got COVID-19 Jabs will die after 2 years. This claim in the image was later on proved FAKE as COVID-19 Vaccine is completely safe, claimed by many scientists. Even Montagnier replied on this fake post that he never talked about anything like this in any interview.
2. Disinformation = China is responsible for COVID-19 spread.
3. Mal-information = “Me Too” Campaign..

I think “Trumpism ‘ is the combination of mis,dis and mal-information. Examples from Pakistan are many.The Pakistani twitter presented the cafe cannoli episode through the lens of disinformation .Mal-information is on peak with Malala’s recent interview to Vogue and her opinion about institution of marriage.
